The method involves providing fuel composition with high portion of ethanol for operation of an internal-combustion engine (1) i.e. petrol engine. The engine is provided with a suction tube (30) with a throttle device (60) for suction air (110). A part of the suction air is heated as valve air (111) when starting the engine, and is supplied to injected fuel (100) by air channels in an injection valve (10). The heating of air is executed by an air heating element (50), which is electrically operated. The air supply is interrupted by an air stop valve (40) after traversing a cold starting phase. The throttle device is designed as a throttle valve. An independent claim is also included for a device for operation an internal-combustion engine.
