The device has an evacuatable press chamber (10) that comprises an upper chamber wall (11) and a lower chamber wall (12). A release sheet (22) is designed as a continuous band and provided on top of component stacks (100). Sealing frames (30) are provided between the upper and the lower chamber walls. The sealing frames close the chamber in an air tight manner. A distance element is provided within the sealing frames. The distance element runs parallel to the upper and lower chamber walls. The distance element partially or completely divides the chamber into lower areas.
