The device (1) has a diode ring operating as a switch mode rectifier with four serial diodes (3-6) connected behind each other in a same direction. An electrical alternating signal source (2) supplies an alternating signal to the diode ring via supply points (9, 10). A measuring sensor (7) is connected with one of the supply points. An evaluation unit (8) is connected with a measuring point (11) and/or another measuring point (12) of the diode ring. The measuring points are connected with the supply points via the diodes. The sensor is designed as a quarter lambda resonator. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring an admittance.
