The system has a dosing device (2) provided with an optical transmitting and/or receiving unit, and connected to a container i.e. two-chamber cartouche (1). A preparation (40a) such as aqueous surfactant-containing preparation and/or preparation with a pH value of less than 5.5, is stored in the container. The dishwasher and the dosing device work together in such a manner that dispensing of the preparation from the dosing device into the space takes place by a rinsing program. A wireless data link is set between a sensor e.g. radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor, and a control unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a dispensing device comprising an optical transmitting unit i.e. LED (2) a method for dispensing a preparation into an interior of a dishwasher by a dosing system.
