The device has a guide plate (3) which uncovers a sheet guidance box (2) for transfer cylinder (1) and forms a sheet guiding surface (F) turned towards a sheet running path, where the plate is removable from the box. The box is integrated in a printing press such that the box is pivotable around a tilting axis (K) running parallel to a rotary axis (X) of the transfer cylinder. A support contour (4) is formed in both side areas of the sheet guidance box, where a side edge area (QK1) of the guide plate is slid on the support contour.
