The device (2) has a combined heat exchanger and sound absorber-device (1) for transferring heat from an exhaust gas stream (AS) to a working medium and comprising a channel (3). The exhaust gas stream flows through the channel, and the working medium flows through another channel. The channels are arranged in a counter flow structure, where the latter channel (4) is arranged in the former channel. Multiple inner pipes (R2) are inserted into an outer pipe. The former channel is arranged as a ring channel around the latter channel.
