The method involves changing clutch operating pressure in a controllable normal position of an emergency slider and in a controllable emergency position of the emergency slider over a clutch slider during neutral position of a dual-clutch drive (10). A functional testing process of the emergency slider is performed when the clutch operating pressure is changed in the controllable normal and emergency positions of the emergency slider. Pressure profiles are provided between the sliders for testing whether the emergency slider is in an actual controlled emergency position.
