The device has an operating unit (2) i.e. two-hand operating element, with an operating button (3) i.e. push button, for manual input of a control command to a machine (1) i.e. plastic parts injection molding machine, by an operator. A detection element (4) determines a condition of the machine. A signal element (5) indicates the condition detected by the detection element to the operator. The signal element has a vibration module and integrated into the operating button. The vibration module is designed such that the indication of the condition takes place by pulsating vibration.
