The method involves separating content information from associated formatting information. Correlations between the content information and the formatting information are stored. The content information is translated into a target language. The translated content information is added with the associated formatting information, so that an output document is adjusted to the target language under the retention of formatting, layouts and document formats of the source document in the target language. The content information is converted into a HTML-like format. An independent claim is also included for a computer system for performing a method for automatic translation of text and/or content information of a source document from a source language into a target language.
