The spot-welding gun comprises a first electrode (1) and a second electrode (4), which cooperates in a welding process with the first electrode, a power source for producing a power flowing over the electrode, where the first electrode is arranged to a gun element (12), which is movable against the another electrode, a drive device (6), which is coupled with the gun element and has an electromotor (8) and a control device (10) for controlling the electromotors, a storage means for storing electrical energy, and a supply network in order to supply the electromotor with electrical energy. The spot-welding gun comprises a first electrode (1) and a second electrode (4), which cooperates in a welding process with the first electrode, a power source for producing a power flowing over the electrode, where the first electrode is arranged to a gun element (12), which is movable against the another electrode, a drive device (6), which is coupled with the gun element and has an electromotor (8) and a control device (10) for controlling the electromotors, a storage means for storing electrical energy, and a supply network in order to supply the electromotor with electrical energy. The drive device is driven by the electromotor occasionally during working operation of the gun element and is driven during the working operation of the electromotor by the gun element. The storage means is electrically connected with the electromotor in such a way that the electric energy is delivered from the electromotor to the storage means during the working operation spot-welding gun. The storage means comprises a condenser and the supply network causes occasionally during the working operation as storage means. The control device is arranged in such a way that it allows the delivery of the electrical energy from the electromotor to the storage means only in operating phase in which the electromotor is driven by the gun element. The control device is a regulation device, which regulates the electromotor in dependent upon a regulating variable, which is selected from a group of regulating variables, which consist of motor current of electromotor, a rotating moment of electromotor, and a position of the gun element. The electromotor is synchronous motor. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a spot-welding gun.
