The method involves supplying inductive energy to a vehicle comprising an energy storage (3) when the vehicle is located in an area. The inductive energy is not supplied to the vehicle when the vehicle is located in another area. A stroke from a position to another position of the vehicle is determined under consideration of characteristics of engine output and/or charging condition recorded in the former area and under consideration of energy received in the former area. The vehicle is controlled based on the position of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling stroke of a vehicle.
