The transport container comprises a thin-walled blank, particularly made of cardboard, a base section (1), multiple wall sections (6 to 9), and an additional wall section (13,17,23) that is folded at the wall section by erecting the blank. The wall section of the container wall has a recess (31,32,33), which is covered by a parallel wall section at the inner side of the container. The transport container comprises a lamellar information carrier, which is mounted at the container wall by the recess. An independent claim is also included for a method for identifying a transport container.
