Image noise reduction from rotating radiation units, in a computer tomography installation, angular data are used for each image point with fault values for image reconstruction
To reduce image noise during the rotation of the radiation units (C2,C4) of a computer tomography (CT) installation (C1) around the patient, the angular setting data are used to give a detail image with a number of image points. Faulty values are determined in the data and the image points. An angular setting is detected for each image point closest to its fault value. The image point fault values are divided into an initial value according to the angular direction and a second value related to another direction e.g. at right angles to the first orientation. The two values are used to reduce image noise.
