The communication system (1) has a communication module (17) for the data exchange of different message types to neighboring vehicles in a traffic or to a road-sided electronic infrastructure unit. An input unit (19) is provided for steering movements of the vehicle. An antenna system (20) is provided with multiple antenna elements (21 to 32) for wireless data exchange. A control unit (33) is provided for the antenna system. An independent claim is also included for a method for vehicle communication.
