The method involves carrying out a determination of the thermal conductivity of each soil layer at each remote drilling tool by a measuring device in a partial manner. The measuring device embedded in a borehole (9). A temporary heat-conductive contact is produced between the measuring device and the borehole wall. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus determining the thermal conductivity of soil layers along a vertical bore.
