The device comprises a continuous casting mold (5) and a supply container (6) for the supply of metal melt to the casting mold. The supply container and the casting mold are arranged next to each other in a phase filled with the metal melt and connected with one another over a connection tube (8). The device has same level of the casting level in the resting state of the metal melt. The surface of the supply container filled by the metal melt is larger than the surface of the casting mold. The cross-section of the supply container is larger than the cross-section of the casting mold. The device comprises a continuous casting mold (5) and a supply container (6) for the supply of metal melt to the casting mold. The supply container and the casting mold are arranged next to each other in a phase filled with the metal melt and connected with one another over a connection tube (8). The device has same level of the casting level in the resting state of the metal melt. The surface of the supply container filled by the metal melt is larger than the surface of the casting mold. The cross-section of the supply container is larger than the cross-section of the casting mold. The supply container is connected with the metal melt with a casting ladle (4) and a first control device is arranged for adjusting the casting level in the supply container through the supply of the metal melt from the casting ladle. The first control device controls the position of a ladle slider (10) that regulates the opening condition at outlet of the casting ladle for filling the supply container during continuous casting. A second control device is arranged for adjusting the opening condition of a slider arranged between the supply container and the casting mold. A device for detecting the filling level of the metal melt is arranged in the supply container and/or in the casting mold and has a system with radiometric or thermal measurement or with eddy-current measurements. The connection tube is arranged in horizontal or inclined manner. The position of the supply container is adjustable by a hydraulic cylinder. The connection tube is implemented between the supply container and the casting mold as telescopic tube in length-variable manner and is equipped with two ball joints. The connection tube is formed between both ball joints as telescopic tube and has sealing made of carbon fiber in the area of the ball joints. The connection tube consists of elastic material, compensates length- and position change between the supply container and the casting mold through elastic shape modification and/or consists of ceramics. The supply container is equipped with chambers corresponding to the casting mold. The chambers are connected together over openings lockable by the slider and the casting ladle is arranged above the chamber. The chambers are connected respectively over a line with the casting mold. The casting mold comprises a side wall. The casting mold comprises side wall rejuvenating in the area of the confluence of the tube connection in funnel-shaped manner. The tube connection comprises a funnel-shaped extension in the connection area at the casting mold. Independent claims are included for: (1) a continuous casting mold in a device for continuous casting of steel; and (2) a method for continuous casting of steel.
