The method involves producing an interference signal (14) with interference frequency and interference amplitude. A control signal (12) is modulated with the interference signal. A theoretical appearance frequency of the interference signal is determined in a spectrum of a signal (11) and a theoretical spectral value of a phase regulation loop. A spectral value of the signal of the phase regulation loop is measured using the theoretical appearance frequency of the interference signal. The measured spectral value is compared with the theoretical spectral value. An independent claim is also included for a phase regulation loop comprising an oscillator controlled by a control signal.
