The system (1) has a covering element (2) for covering a window. The covering element is fastened and rolled around a rotatably mountable or supportable winding shaft (3). A deflecting shaft (4) is arranged parallel to the winding shaft. A continuous loop (5) i.e. belt, is arranged around the winding shaft and the deflecting shaft in a circulating manner. The loop is guided by the covering element such that the covering element is lifted, wound and unwound by the loop during a rotary motion of the loop. The loop is made of elastomer or thermoplastic elastomer. The covering element is selected from an insect screen, a sun protection and view-protection particulate filter or an isolating foil.
