The saw cable (1) has a set of cutting beads arranged at a distance to each other, where each of the cutting beads has a cutting segment (4) held at a support body (3). The cutting beads are held at a cable strand (2), and each cutting segment has hard, wear-resistant cutting center punches (6) and a binding structure, where the center punches are integrated into the binding structure. The binding structure is made of a ceramic raw material, and the center punches are made of diamond, cubical boron nitride and boron carbide. The support body has a metallic structure or a ceramic structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing cutting beads for a cutting bead saw cable.
