The apparatus comprises storing areas spatially separated from each other and lockable against the atmosphere, a unit for supplying oxygen-poor protective gases suited for foodstuffs into the storing areas and/or one of the storing areas, and a control unit. The supplying unit is formed as a pressure contained containing the protective gas and a reception device for pressure container, and is formed as a protective-gas generating unit spatially separately arranged from the apparatus, which is operatively connected with the apparatus. The supplying unit has a dosing device. The apparatus comprises storing areas spatially separated from each other and lockable against the atmosphere, a unit for supplying oxygen-poor protective gases suited for foodstuffs into the storing areas and/or one of the storing areas, and a control unit. The supplying unit is formed as a pressure contained containing the protective gas and a reception device for pressure container, and is formed as a protective-gas generating unit spatially separately arranged from the apparatus, which is operatively connected with the apparatus. The supplying unit has a dosing device for dosing the protective gases, and an analysis device for analyzing the protective gases to be supplied and/or the protective atmosphere dominating in the storing areas and/or one of the storing areas. The control unit allows an adjustment of different protective atmosphere in the storing areas. The apparatus has a unit for adjusting temperature and/or atmospheric humidity in the storing areas and/or one of the storing areas, and a unit for temporally cooling the storing areas and/or one of the storing areas.
