Coupling for use in automobile industry to connect belt pulley of crankshaft with rotor hub of generator in internal combustion engine, has blocking element preventing locking of locking element in recess during exceeding of hub limit speed
The coupling has a locking element (36) for releasing a lock between a belt pulley (25) and a rotor hub (26) against reset force during exceeding of limit speed of the belt pulley. The locking element is locked in a locking recess (37) in the hub in an idle state of the belt pulley and the hub, such that rotation of the belt pulley with respect to the hub is prevented. A blocking element (38) is activatable by rotation of the hub and prevents locking of the locking element in the locking recess during exceeding of limit speed of the hub. An independent claim is also included for a method for coupling a generator of an internal combustion engine with a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine.
