The supercharger (1) has a hood-shaped piston (21) dividing an interior of a compression cylinder (24) in each compressor assembly (3). The piston is rotatably movable from a piston rod into the cylinder such that sucking and compression processes take place simultaneously via movement of piston and action of intake valves (29) and exhaust valves (30) during movement of piston. Ambient air is suctioned and introduced into a suction port simultaneously with the sucking and compression processes. The piston moves symmetrically to an axis of rotation (11) of a drive wheel (6) i.e. chain wheel.
