A method according to the invention for the determination of k - spatial positions for a modeling of hf - pulses for magnet resonance excitations in this case comprises the steps of:a) selecting a target magnetization,b) determining the current or of the currently reachable magnetization,c) determining a deviation of the current which can be achieved in the magnetization of the target magnetization,d) determining the spectrum of the deviation in the k - space as the actual spectrum,e) locating at least of a maximum in the current spectrum,f) storing the k - spatial positions of the localized maxima in a set of previously certain k - spatial positions,g) determining current pulse coefficients, with which an optimal current magnetization can be achieved, by using at least one k - spatial position of said set of previously certain k - spatial position,h) repeating the steps c) to g) to a predefinable interrupt criterion is met, but at least once, whereby in each repetition at least one k - spatial position in the determination of current pulse coefficients is used, which in the case of any preceding determination of current pulse coefficients was used.
