A method for the determination of local deviations of a bias magnetic field of a magnetic resonance device from a setpoint value, said method comprising the steps of:– Loading of a first by means of the magnetic resonance apparatus with a first frequency coding gradient recorded image data set of an examination region,– Loading of a second by means of the magnetic resonance apparatus with a second frequency coding gradient recorded image data set of the same examination region, wherein the first and second frequency coding gradient are different,– Obtaining a transformations - displacement field as the final result of a registration of the first and second image data set,– Calculating local deviations of the bias magnetic field from a setpoint value on the basis of the calculated transformations - displacement field,– Display and / or storing the calculated local deviations of the bias magnetic field,characterized in that the first and second frequency coding gradient differ in their thickness.
