Device for controlling temperature of charged air of internal-combustion engine, has heat exchangers arranged one behind other in working medium loop, where sequence of flow of medium is adjustable depending on operating point of engine
The device (1) has a loading device (3) driven by exhaust gas, and a heat exchanger (4) arranged in a line (6) of fresh air. Another heat exchanger (5) is arranged in a line (7) of recirculated exhaust gas for cooling or heating charged air. The heat exchangers are arranged one behind the other in a working medium loop (11), where sequence of flow of a working medium i.e. water, is adjustable depending on an operating point of an internal-combustion engine (2). A multi way valve (12) is arranged in the loop and designed as a 2/2-way valve. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling temperature of charged air of an internal-combustion engine.
