The machine has a storage unit (12) directly provided at an end of a conveying unit. Another conveying unit (10) includes horizontally aligned and circularly driven belts or chains that are moved towards a driving direction of a tractor (3). The belts or chains are contacted with each other in a synchronization region, so that a wood rod is detected in a receiving region before a cutting unit (8) during and after implementing cutting process in the synchronization region. The storage unit in a vertical position is released from the synchronization region and vertically moved.
