The method involves separating a pilot signal (CW) produced by an oscillator (2) into two paths (3, 7), where the pilot signal has a frequency outside a frequency of a wanted signal (S) of an electronic circuit (1) and is fed to the circuit. The paths are supplied to an input of a mixer (6) i.e. phase detector. Signals from the electronic circuit are fed to another input of the mixer. A direct current voltage is detected at an output of the mixer using an analog-digital converter (9). An alternating current voltage provided at the output of the mixer is transferred to a mass. An independent claim is also included for a device for monitoring an electronic circuit.
