The mechanism (3) has a crankshaft (4) comprising a guidance area for an eccentric component (9). An adjusting shaft (12) is inserted into the crankshaft, where eccentricity of the eccentric component is changed by rotating the adjusting shaft. A stopper is arranged between the adjusting shaft and the crankshaft. The stopper mechanically defines a relative adjusting angle between the adjusting shaft and the crankshaft. A sensor device (18) i.e. contactless sensor, detects an angle defined by an end of the adjusting shaft.
