Method for recognizing lane for car during e.g. snowfall, involves determining correctness of detected lane data based on arrangement of reflection markings, where lane data are corrected if required
The method involves detecting lane markings (M4-M9) and/or lane edge markings (M1-M3) on lanes (F1, F2). Driving surfaces (S1-S4) are determined from detected arrangement of the lane markings and/or the lane edge markings. Reflection markings (RM1-RMn) are detected, and correctness of detected lane data is determined based on arrangement of the reflection markings, where the lane data are corrected if required. The reflection markings are compared with stored geometrical patterns, and are identified based on the comparison result. An independent claim is also included for a device for recognizing a lane for a vehicle.
