The arrangement has a lamp (4) for direct illumination of a working surface (2) i.e. writing table surface, and including multiple LEDs as illuminants. A part (10) of the LEDs illuminates a part of the working surface. A control arrangement controls LEDs such that the part of the LEDs is switched on and another part of the LEDs is switched off. The control arrangement is operated via a personal computer-interface. The lamp includes other illuminants for indirect illumination of the surface. The lamp is provided with a Digital addressable lighting interface (DALI)-terminal.
