The beam (10''') has carrier part elements (12''', 14''', 16'), which are sectionally connected by corresponding connection regions i.e. joint flanges (18''', 20''', 22'), by the formation of a hollow cross-section profile (24'''). The connection regions of the carrier part elements are extended in an edge region (11) of the beam in a motor vehicle vertical direction (26). An intermediate space formed by the hollow cross-section profile is extended between the carrier part elements in a transverse direction of the beam over the entire breadth of the beam.
