The method involves controlling two robots (2, 3) and a laser source (6) using a control unit (8), where the laser source produces a laser beam (7) that is directed towards a leather-made shoe shaft. The laser beam is directed alternately by the control unit through lenses (18, 19) on the shoe shaft held by the robots. Change is accomplished in the adjustment of laser beam based on the occurrence of preset conditions in an operating cycle of the robots, where positioning of a bracket in the shoe shaft during laser roughening is one of the preset conditions. An independent claim is also included for a leather-made shoe shaft roughening device comprising a control unit.
