The method involves stereoscopically detecting and processing two images using an image detection device, and performing estimation and/or prediction of a condition of an object using a sequential Monte Carlo filter. Condition data of the object are three-dimensionally processed. Horizontal- and vertical coordinates of the position of the object are determined. A coordinate is formed from a reciprocal value of distance of the object to the image detection device. Estimation of movement of the object is performed using a movement model.
