The device (1a) has a flywheel unit (3) connected with an output shaft of an internal combustion engine, and another flywheel unit (4) connected to a transmission over a coupling. The units are rotatably supported against the effect of a damping device (9) that is arranged between the flywheel units, where the damping device has energy storages (10) that are effective in a circumferential direction. The storages are accommodated in an annular space (11) formed from sections (12a, 13a) of the former unit, where the sections have two identical parts (30) that are centered radial to each other.
