The amplifier has a power circuit comprising a half bridge to provide load current and a direct current (DC) voltage intermediate circuit with a capacitor element (4a) e.g. film capacitor, as an electrical energy buffer. The capacitor element of the DC voltage intermediate circuit is mechanically directly connected to the power circuit. A part of the DC voltage intermediate circuit is positioned over or adjacent to the power circuit. The power circuit has a power circuit substrate (5) or a power circuit board extending in an x-y-plane of a Cartesian coordinate system.
