Disclosed are a photovoltaic fuel cell hybrid power generation system employing a single converter and a single inverter and a method of controlling the same. The photovoltaic fuel cell hybrid power generation system includes a DC converter unit that converts a fuel cell output voltage from a fuel cell that converts chemical energy into electrical energy to a predetermined voltage; a DC connection unit that connects an output terminal of a photovoltaic cell that converts the sunlight into electric power and an output terminal of the DC converter unit, and connects the converted fuel cell output voltage from the DC converter unit to a photovoltaic output voltage from the photovoltaic cell to generate such a DC voltage; a DC / AC inverter unit that converts the DC voltage from the DC link unit to a predetermined AC voltage. Further, a method for controlling the photovoltaic-fuel cell hybrid power generation system is proposed.
