The plastic component (10) has a holder element (12) folded out with the component as a single piece by a film hinge for holding lines (20) e.g. hydraulic lines. The holder element is brought into a functional position by folding around the film hinge and has a recess (16) formed as a perforation for retaining the lines. A locking element (18) prevents folding back of the holding element from the functional position. The recess is formed at an edge (15) of the holding element. A holding pin (24) holds another line (22) in the component. An independent claim is also included for a method for laying a line in a motor vehicle.
