The lamp has electrodes consisting of an electrode main body and an electrode shaft. The electrodes are arranged opposite to each other, and a hydrogen getter (4) is attached around the electrode shaft in a coiled manner. The hydrogen getter comprises a tight-closed hollow container (5). A hydrogen absorbing getter material is enclosed at an interior of the tight-closed hollow container, which is made of a hydrogen-permeable material. Wave-like recesses (8) are formed at an inner surface of the hollow container of the getter, where the inner surface lies opposite to the shaft.
