The method involves applying a vulnerable material (3) on a substrate (1) in a structured manner. A surface region of the substrate is made invulnerable by directed radiation with exclusion of lateral edges for a process material (12), so that a narrow bar of the vulnerable material remains below an invulnerable surface region after aggression of the process material. The substrate is moistened at a region of the bar of cascaded structures (7), and a limited region of the substrate is pretreated in an unlimited manner.
