The device has a welding device producing a welding seam that connects a tear tab (14) with a packing casing (10). A pressing element is provided opposite to the welding device, and a welding region is provided between the welding device and pressing element in which the tab and the casing are arranged for welding. A closure device moves the pressing element and/or the welding device relative to each other. A displacement element, displacing a part of plastic materials of the tear tab and the casing during a welding process, is connected with the pressing element and/or the welding device.
