Combined heat and power plant (CHP plant) for the simultaneous generation of electrical energy and useful heat for use in private households, industrial or institutional buildings, characterized, that the entire CHP plant consists of a housing frame in which CHP module cells are inserted, and that the CHP module cells convert the chemically-latent enthalpy of a supplied fuel into a portion of mechanical energy in the form of a torque tappable to a drive shaft and a portion of sensitive enthalpy that can be transferred via a heat exchanger for use at the application site.
