The roof tile (1) has a plate-form main section on one side of which is a first side section (30) with at least one side rib, and a second side section (40) located on the other side of the main section and with an interlock section. The side rib has a profiled edge protruding beyond the plane of the upper side of the plate-form main section. The interlock section has a cover roll moulding (40d). The first side section directly adjoins the plate-form main section with its upper side aligning with the upper side of the main section. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a roof of a building with a covering with laid invention-specified roof tiles; and (B) a method for the manufacture of a ceramic roof tile.
