The air purifier comprises a blower (6), an ozone generator (7), an ozone neutralizer (8), an air duct (9) an air inlet opening (10) and an air outlet opening (11). The ozone generator and the ozone neutralizer are located between the air inlet opening and the air outlet opening, in the air duct. They are exposed to airflow from the blower. The ozone generator is located at the air inlet- or outlet opening. A microfilter is placed between the ozone generator and the ozone neutralizer. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method of air purification.
