Procedure for generating a trigger signal under the Electrical Differential Protection Principle and the Electrical Differential Protection Regulation

The method involves monitoring differential current values with respect to a lower threshold and a stabilizing current level and generating a trigger signal if positive results of both monitoring functions arise. The differential (id) and stabilizing (is) current values are computed as instantaneous values using instantaneous values of currents (i1,i2) detected on a section of an electrical supply network. Differential quotients are evaluated. Independent claims are also included for a current differential protection arrangement.
