The fabric has pile warp threads (F1, F2), base warp threads (G1, G2) and wefts (1, 2, 3, 4), where the fabric underlies a previously determined binding repeating pattern and a weft beat-up repeating pattern. The wefts are provided and are jointly beaten up, and the weft beat-up repeating pattern has other five wefts. Setting of the base warp threads is freely selected in the binding repeating pattern. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a terry fabric with relief effect.
