The present invention relates to a catalyst that contains at least one zeolite with structure type bog, comprising silicon and at least one element t selected from the group formed by aluminium, iron, gallium, and boron. The catalyst contains at least one metal selected from the group formed by the elements of groups vib, viib and viii non noble of the periodic table of elements. The catalyst is utilisédans a process for transalkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene and the alkylaromatic to at least 9 carbon atoms.
