Process for the quantitative analysis of hydrocarbon mixtures containing oxygenated compounds, in particular of biofuels by means of a flame ionization detector coupled to a chromatography column in the gaseous phase in which there is injected into the column, a sample of a mixture to be analyzed and is drawn to the output of the detector a chromatogram constituted by a succession of peaks, each corresponding to one of the constituents of the mixture, characterized in that at each of the components i of the mixture to be analyzed, it calculates a factor of the theoretical response rfi using the formula # # str1 # # in which c i represents the number of carbon atoms in the constituent i, 0 i represents the number of atoms of oxygen in this constituent, m (c) represents the atomic mass of carbon, m represents the atomic mass of the oxygen, m i represents the molar mass of the constituent i, c, 1 represents the number of carbon atoms in a reference compound, and m 1 represents the molar mass of the reference compound.
