The device has an anti-theft hitching casing (3) located under a securing sphere (9) and against a support (1) by an axle (2). A flat section (7) of the axle faces the sphere to permit passage of the sphere to hitch or unhitch a trailer or is placed in opposition to the sphere to prevent passage of the sphere. The sphere is linked to the casing in a hitching state and not integrated to the casing in an unhitching state based on the sphere passage to ensure complete protection of the trailer against theft while mechanically simplifying a coupling system, without modifying visual appearance.
