METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING A HYBRID MESH FROM A CPG TYPE MESH

Method for evaluating flows of fluids in a heterogeneous medium, using a hybrid mesh constructed from a structured mesh type CPG and a radial mesh. The first step is to locally deform the CPG mesh into a non-uniform Cartesian mesh. These local mesh deformations correspond to the passage of a reference mark called "CPG" to a reference said "Cartesian" defined by the deformation. These deformations are then quantified, by a deformation function f, and applied to the radial mesh to move to the "Cartesian" coordinate system. The second step consists in locally correcting the definition of this deformation function around the radial mesh, so that the radial mesh, in the "Cartesian" frame, retains its geometric characteristics necessary for the generation of a transition mesh. Then, in the corrected "Cartesian" coordinate system, a hybrid grid is generated from the two meshes thus deformed. Finally, this hybrid mesh is deformed to return to the "CPG" mark, using the inverse of the deformation function f. Application to the study of hydrocarbon deposits for example.
