The system has an inflating insert (10) placed between a base of a lower reinforcement (1) of a center pillar and an upper face (7) of a side rail (3). The insert is made of material to inflate at a preset temperature for realizing sealing between the base and the side rail. The insert includes a rigid support with projection fingers snapped-on in holes provided in the upper face. A sealing unit (24) e.g. sealing cord, is placed between the reinforcement and a liner (23), where the liner and the reinforcement are made of sheet metal.
